CADUK Launch ‘Express’ Route to CSCS Gold Card

CADUK are pleased to announce the launch of our new Express (one-day) route to access the CSCS Gold Card through the achievement of the Pearson/Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision.

Our specialist NVQ assessors will come to site to complete the entire assessment process in one day, using our electronic evidence recording system.

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision is designed for work supervisors (gangers) – i.e. those who contribute to the supervision of formworkers, steelfixers, construction operatives etc, and is suitable both for established occupational works supervisors and for those who are developing their abilities in this occupation.

This just shows what a pointless scheme this is, how can you asses a tradesperson to gold card level in one day. This is killing this industry and is why no main contractor takes them seriously.

    1. nasprey say: 1 month ago Reply

Thanks Steve, although you have this confused with the Gold ‘Advanced Craft’ CSCS Card. The one-day assessment we are offering applies only to the Gold ‘Supervisor’ CSCS Card.

Before our assessor is even sent to site the candidate will have undertaken a comprehensive profiling process with us to ensure that they are already carrying out the role of a Supervisor, have the skills, knowledge and experience required to meet the occupational standard, and can produce documentary evidence and witness testimonies to back that up. If they can not demonstrate these things to us, we can not carry out this qualification with them.

Once we are satisfied that the candidate definitely has access to this qualification the industry specialist NVQ assessor is sent to site to undertake a rigorous assessment process.

We fully utilise modern technology combined with industry expert assessors (many of our assessors are MCIOB/FCIOB) to conduct this process on the same day. This by no means makes the assessment process easier, if anything the assessment will be much more demanding than the traditional assessment method – it is just carried out over one day instead of over 4 short site visits like most other centres.

      Many thanks – CADUK

How can you charge so much for 1 man for a days work ids beond me. CSCS is a total rackett. I had to fo a full level 3 nvq for my gold card and you are making it worthless. Tax on the working man

Hi Adam, the one day assessment is only a part of the overall qualification process. Before our assessor is even sent to site the candidate will have gone through a comprehensive profiling process with us to ensure that they are already carrying out the role of a Supervisor, have the skills, knowledge and experience required to meet the occupational standard, and can produce documentary evidence and witness testimonies to back that up. If they can not demonstrate these things to us, we can not carry out this qualification with them.

Once we are satisfied that the candidate definitely has access to this qualification the industry specialist NVQ assessor is sent to site to undertake a rigorous assessment process. Other NVQ centres generally carry out the assessment process via pen and paper over the course of 3-4 site visits each lasting a few hours. If you prefer to do it that way that’s absolutely fine.

We at CADUK however fully utilise modern technology combined with industry expert assessors (many of our assessors are MCIOB/FCIOB) to conduct this process on the same day. This by no means makes the assessment process easier, if anything the assessment will be much more demanding than the traditional assessment method – it is just carried out over one day instead of over 4 short site visits.

The cost of the qualification is associated with the value of the qualification, the processes we have put in place to enable us to actually carry out the one-day assessment, and the expertise of the industry specialist assessor who will come to site to observe the Supervisor and carry out an intensive professional discussion directly related to the occupational standard. The additional costs that we have to pay (such as registration fees etc) are exactly the same for us as with any other centre, do not make the mistake of confusing the quantity of assessment with the quality of the assessment process.

      Many thanks – CADUK

    1. nasprey say: 1 month ago Reply

Hi Martin, we do offer payments via installments on our other NVQs, but not this one unfortunately this assessment is carried out in one day.
