Plant Operations NVQs
Our SQA Level 2 NVQ Diplomas and Certificates provide access to the Blue (Competent Operator) CPCS card. These NVQs are a fantastic way of developing yourself and will undoubtedly lead to further progression in the industry.
We fully utilise technology to provide a unique one-day assessment delivered directly on-site. Candidates will be assessed by one of our specialist Plant assessors (all of whom have vast industry experience).
This method of assessment is ideal for people who’s Red CPCS cards are coming up for renewal therefore require a replacement card very quickly.
Please note: This one-day assessment method is only available to established, experienced plant operators and is not suitable for those still developing their abilities in this occupation.

The entire assessment process is captured electronically by our on-site assessor through CADUK’s bespoke recording system and incorporates four methods of assessment (Professional discussion, witness testimony, observation of performance and inspection of work products).
This method of assessment is ideal for people who’s red CPCS cards are coming up for renewal therefore require a replacement card very quickly.
Generally the learner will have the certificate of achievement delivered to their home address within 10 days.
If the certificate is required urgently, we have the facility to provide a bespoke service that enables the candidate to apply for their CPCS blue card within 2 days of the successful assessment taking place. The candidate therefore does not need to wait for the certificate to arrive by post.
No. NVQs aren’t about how good you are at exams, they are about how good you are at work. NVQs never involve written tests, they don’t involve trick questions – they are designed to let your skills, knowledge and experience shine through in practical ways.
NVQs relate to the real world and many certificate holders and their employers will tell you that this is their main advantage. NVQs are not about going back to school. They are about going where you want to go in your career.
There are no formal entry requirements for these Controlling Lifting Operations NVQs, however potential candidates must:
- Already hold the relevant red CPCS card.
- Have at least 6 months experience in the role.
- Be able to demonstrate to us that they can meet the skills and knowledge requirements of the NVQ prior to enrolment.
We will never enrol any learner onto an NVQ program until we have confirmed that the qualification is actually achievable.
