Fast-Track access to MCIOB for experienced Construction Managers

CADUK can provide experienced Construction Managers with fast-track access to Membership of The Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), through the NVQ Level 7 in Construction Senior Management, but what does MCIOB recognition really mean?

Please watch the video below:

The Pearson/Edexcel Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management is designed for project managerscontracts managers, production managerscommercial managersproperty and facilities managers, specialist construction managers, and operations directors of smaller construction companies.

As a minimum, they will:

  • oversee projects from inception to handover.
  • determine project requirements and form the project team accordingly.
  • evaluate and present technical information.
  • provide advice on technical construction issues.
  • evaluate project information to determine project risks and opportunities.
  • undertake personal development and manage the development of others.
  • identify quality standards and pass them on to the project team.
  • analyse the organisation’s strategic objectives, plans and forecasted future projects to plan workforce requirements.

This qualification is assessed though a combination of evidence submission (workplace documents) and ‘Professional Discussion’. There is no written work, no classroom-based elements, and the whole assessment can be achieved remotely (without the assessor coming to site) through our unique assessment process.

Initially, we provide a list of evidence documents that you will need to upload to our ePortfolio portal. Once your assessor has reviewed the documentation and is satisfied with it, you will move onto the discussion stage.

The discussion will be carried out remotely via Zoom/Teams. During this session you will ‘share screens’ with your assessor so that you can view the evidence documents and unit questions together.

Next, you will work through each of the units – essentially telling your assessor how you carry out your role, giving examples of real projects, real scenarios and describing how the evidence that you have presented helped facilitate the process.

It’s that simple..

All of our NVQ7 assessors are Members or Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) themselves, and will help you very step of the way with your own fast-track MCIOB application once the NVQ has been achieved. Candidates can also apply for the Black Manager CSCS card on completion of the NVQ7.

For more information give us a call us on (01952) 287366 or to apply for the Level 7 NVQ, click here to complete our online profiling tool. One of our assessors will be in touch for a telephone profiling session (to make 100% sure that the qualification is achievable), then once approved to enrol you can start the process at any time.
